TIE Activity: Final Product

My final product can be found at the following link: TIE Activity

The students really enjoyed this activity and I will use this again in the future. Once I told students that they would be able to post their sentences on the blog, they became very excited and it seemed like they rushed through their work so that they could get on the computers. I wish that I would have waited to tell them about the blog until every student completed their work. Blogs are a great way for students to interact, but I would like to try Voice Threads with my students also. During center time, students will be able to log on to the blog and view and comment on other students' work.

  1. That is so exciting that your students enjoyed seeing their postings on the blog! Voice Threads would of been great to do this activity with as well because they could record their sentence instead of typing it. I am glad the students enjoyed the activity and that you plan on using this idea again!

  2. Brooke,
Your lesson seemed like it went well. My 4th graders also enjoyed the blog. They though they were on facebook, so it was something that they could relate to. Blogs are a good way for communication and for them to interact through text!

  4. I really enjoyed reading the blog that you and your students had created. They did such a great job with their monsters and sentences. This was a great activity for teaching adjectives. I liked how you incorporated blogs into this lesson, what a great idea.

  5. Oh my gosh your student's illustration are great! It looks like they had a great time with the activity. You mentioned that they were excited about seeing the final product on the computer and you pin pointed an area of improvement for next time. It's great to reflect on our lesson so we can make them more effective next time around. Awsome job!!

  6. I love your blog! It seems like your students had so much fun creating pictures and posting comments about them. I like how you incorporated blogs instead of voicethread and google docs. Great Job!

  7. The end product was great! What made you pick the idea of monsters? Was it from a story they had previously read? What was the most difficult part you had with them working on a blog?
